Effective Yoga starts from Effective Breathing.
“Most of us have lost connection with this breath and so have lost a connection with a natural way of being our own energy source.”— Donna Farhi, The Breathing Book
We aim to do exercise safe and effective, in a relaxed and comfortable way, doing no harm to the self and befriending the self .
Our Motion and Stillness Sessions include the following modalities：
- Tai Chi：Chen’s Tai Chi YangShengGong- Joint Flexion, Chen’s Tai Chi Essential 18, Nurturing the Taichi Vital Qi (Chen Zhenglei Tai Chi)
- Qi (Essential Breath, Life Force, Energy)：Qi Gong Exercises, Fusion of Tai Chi and Yoga ( following Sifu Matthew Cohen‘s teaching style)
- Yoga：Mantra Chanting, Contemplative Meditation, Yoga Flow, Supported Yoga Postures and Variations (following Teacher Donna Farhi’s style)
TaiJi Qi Yoga, A Return to Wholeness, Spirit Mind Body
“All Qi Gong exercises are different in terms of approaches and methods, however, all have the same goals- health, fitness and longevity. All aim to achieve the goals by strengthening and solidifying the internal qi, moving the qi through the meridian pipes and the peripheral branches, and guiding the qi through the micro and macro cosmic orbits.” – Pg. 57, Chen’s Tai Chi for Health and Wellness, by Chen, Zhenglei (translated by Yan, Zhigang)
Taiji Qi Yoga Motion and Stillness Sessions aim to discover and the “Essential Qi” within the self, through the wholeness of Mind, Body and Spirit. Its yoga flows apply the Tai Chi movement principles such as “natural breathing, whole body relaxation, spiral rotation, yin and yang opening and closing” etc.
TaiJi Qi Yoga helps the students to understand the structures of body: three parts-legs, trunk, arms; skeletons-pelvis, spine, four limbs, spine-tailbone, lumbar, thoracic spine and cervical spine; the chakra-related key points and extraordinary meridians. It introduces “Five Virtues (Right Discrimination, Forgiveness and Tolerance, Contentment, Detachment, Humility) to remove the blockages in the “Emotional Body”, and thus awaken the “Essential Qi“ to naturally clear the main energy channels of meridian pipes, and reach the body health and nourishment.
“Strong roots will create flourishing branches and leaves. Nurture the root, the branches and leaves consequently flourish.” —Chen’s Tai Chi Old Frame One and Two by Chen Zhenglei, translated by Yan, Zhigang
Based on Ping’s own self healing journey, Ping created TaiJi Qi Yoga. She completed the Yoga Teachers Training with Ruth van der Voort (the Creator and Director of Toronto Yoga Conference and Show, the Creator of Synergy Movement). In 2016 while she was on her study with internationally renowned Yoga Teacher Donna Farhi (the author of six published books on Yoga) in her worldwide yoga intensives, she received the deep transformation. In 2017，she started to learn Tai Chi in Toronto from Yan, Zhigang ( Chen’s Tai Chi 12th Generation, in-chamber Disciple of Grand Master Chen, Zhenglei, the Translator of 6 published books on Chen’s Tai Chi). In Jun 2018, Ping became one of the last “DiTie” Disciples of Grand Master Chen, Zhenglei. Ping also followed Sifu Matthew Cohen (the Creator of Sacred Energy Arts in California) for the fusion of Yoga, Tai Chi, Qigong and Martial Arts.
